> Related business concepts mapped together as a connected constellation, not a list of isolated entities.
Business meaning does not come in isolated entities; it comes in clusters. "Order" only makes sense together with Customer, Product, Delivery, and Invoice — a small constellation of concepts whose *relationships* carry as much meaning as the concepts themselves. Conceptual constellations is the practice of modeling and presenting these clusters as connected wholes: pick a center of gravity, map the concepts that orbit it, and make the lines between them explicit.
The constellation framing does two jobs. For the business, it is a communication device — a one-page star map of "everything around Order" is far easier to validate in a workshop than an entity list or a full ER diagram, which is where business-friendly diagramming meets semantic modeling. For the platform, it is a scoping device: a constellation is a natural unit of delivery, and its edges are candidate integration points with neighboring constellations.
Stitched together, the constellations become the map of the enterprise: overlapping clusters that share stars, converging on the enterprise ontology one recognizable neighborhood at a time — bottom-up and business-first, rather than as one intimidating top-down model.
Where it lives: the Business-Friendly family — the cluster-shaped view of the semantic model.
